Our Covid-19 Update

Covid-19 Update

We hope you are all staying safe during this time, we’re both working from home, so the office is closed to callers, but we are still answering the phones. Our helpline hours remain the same from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm Monday to Thursday.

Unfortunately, we had to decide to close our social centres during the pandemic. As most of the people attending them are over 70, it seemed the most responsible course of action since doing this the government have brought in stricter social distancing rules.

We will be keeping in touch with social centre members and are looking at other ways in which people may be able to chat with each other.

Library Service

The library service is still running, though you may have to wait a little longer to get your books.

Shop Orders

If you know exactly what you want, you can place a shop order.  It will be mailed out to you, along with an invoice so you can pay either by cheque or bank transfer. If you want to come and have a look around the shop, your name will be placed on a waiting list for an appointment after the pandemic is over.

Magnifier Assessments

We’re not carrying out magnifier assessments during the pandemic. Your name will be placed on a waiting list for an appointment after the pandemic is over.

Technology information

We can provide information over the phone or by email. There will be no face to face appointments. As with magnifier and shop appointments, your name will be placed on the waiting list.

All this leaves us to do is to hope that you all stay healthy and safe during this time.

With regards – Antony and Annette.
